Command Sergeant Major Ricky H. Richardson

Command Sergeant Major Ricky H. Richardson enlisted in the Army on September 6, 1981 and completed basic training at Fort Knox, KY and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Gordon as Multi-Channel Communication Operator (31M).

Upon completion of Advanced Individual Training in April 1982, he was assigned to C co, 32d Signal Battalion, in Frankfurt, Federal Republic of Germany, where he served as a Multi-Channel Communication Channel Operator. In September 1983, he was assigned to A co, 9th SIG BN, Ft Lewis WA as a Team Chief. In October 1985, he was assigned to B co 82nd SIG BN, Ft. Bragg NC as a Team Chief. In 1988, he was assigned to 26th SIG BN Heilbronn Germany as a Section Chief. In 1991, he was assigned to 2/52 ADA Ft. Bragg NC as a Section Chief. In 1992, he was assigned to A co, 327th SIG BN Ft. Bragg NC as a Section Chief. In 1994, he was assigned to C co, 447th SIG BN, Ft. Gordon GA as a Senior Drill Sergeant. In 1997, he was assigned to HHC 22nd SIG BDE Heidelberg Germany as an Operation Sergeant. In 2001, he was assigned 67th SIG BN, Ft. Gordon GA as a Operation Sergeant and later as First Sergeant of A co, 67th SIG BN.  In 2004, he was assigned to 101st Airborne Division Air Assault as the G6 SGM .

CSM Richardson’s military training includes: Warrior Leader Course, Basic Noncommissioned Officer Course, Advanced Noncommissioned Officer Course, First Sergeant Course, Navy Senior Enlisted Advisory Course Class 127 (Honor Graduate), Drill Sergeant School, Airborne School and Air Assault School.

His awards and decorations include the Bronze Star (1OLC),  Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (2st OLC), Army Commendation Medal (9th OLC),  Joint Service Achievement Medal, Army Achievement Medal(5th OLC), Meritorious  Unit Award, Good Conduct Medal(7th Award), National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expedition Medal, South West Asia Medal, Kosovo Campaign Medal, Iraqi Campaign Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal, NCO Professional Development Medal (with numeral 3), USA Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (with numeral 5), UN Medal, Saudi Libation Medal, Kuwait Libation Medal, NATO Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal and Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal, Drill Sergeant Badge, Parachutist Badge, Air Assault Badge, Combat Action Badge, Silver German Weapons Badge, Signal Corps Regimental Association, Silver Order of Mercury, and a Sergeant Morales Clubs Member (since 1989).

CSM Richardson has served his country in the following deployments; Desert Shield/Desert Storm, Somalia, Kosovo, Bosnia, Operation Iraqi Freedom I and II and Operation Enduring Freedom.
