Brigadier General Jeffrey W. Foley

Brigadier General Foley assumed duties as the Commander, U.S. Army Signal Center, Commandant, of the Signal School, and the Chief of Signal in August 2007.
He was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, in 1955, graduated from the United States Military Academy in June 1978 and was commissioned a second lieutenant in the Signal Corps. He assumed the duties as Director of Architecture, Operations, Networks, and Space, in the Department of the Army’s Office of the Chief Information Officer and G6 on 1 June 2005.
Since his initial assignment at Fort Bragg in the 50th Signal Battalion, 35th Signal Brigade, he has held a variety of command and staff positions in units throughout the world. He commanded A Co, 304th Signal Battalion, 1st Signal Brigade in Korea, the 57th Signal Battalion, 3d Signal Brigade, Fort Hood, TX, and the 35th Signal Brigade, Fort Bragg, NC.
His staff assignments include: S-1 and assistant S-3 for the 50th Signal Battalion; Assistant S-3 for 93d Signal Brigade, VII Corps during OPERATIONS DESERT SHIELD and STORM S-3 and XO for the 51st Signal Battalion, 22d Signal Brigade, V Corps in Germany; Brigade S-3 for 3d Signal Brigade, III Corps at Fort Hood. He also served at the US Army Signal Center at Fort Gordon, Georgia in both the Directorate of Combat Developments and later as the Chief of Staff. His joint assignments include US Forces – Korea J6 staff, on the Joint Staff in the J6 CinC Operations Division, and as the J6/Chief Information Officer – Director of Command and Control Communications and Computer Systems for US Central Command, MacDill AFB, FL.
His awards include the Legion of Merit (w/OLC), Bronze Star Medal, the Joint Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal with three oak leaf clusters, the Army Commendation Medal with one oak leaf cluster, the Army Achievement Medal, the Southwest Asia Service Medal with three bronze stars, the National Defense Service Medal, the Saudi Arabia and Kuwait Liberation Medal, and the Joint Meritorious Unit Award. He is a master parachutist and authorized to wear the Joint Staff Identification Badge. His military education includes the Signal Basic and Advanced Courses, the Command and General Staff College, and the National War College. He holds Masters' degrees in Computer Systems and National Security Policy.
