MG (Ret.) Alan B. Salisbury (2008)

Major General (Ret.) Alan B. Salisbury is a true scholar, a communications professional and a leader in the National Capitol Region’s Signal community. He dedicated much of his life to the study and research of electrical engineering and computer science, graduating from the the United States Military Academy in 1958 and completing PhD graduate work at Stanford University in 1973. As a Soldier, he excelled as a Signal Staff Officer, a West Point instructor and Program Manager for Position Locating and Reporting Systems and Operations Tactical Data Systems. He is the author of numerous technical and management papers including a textbook on micro-programmable computer architectures and was the founding editor of The Journal of Systems and Software. After graduate school, he became the Director, Special Task Force – All Source Analysis System and Program Manager, Joint Tactical Fusion Progam, reporting to the Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations and Plans, HQDA. In 1984, he assumed command of the United States Army Information Systems Engineering Command (ISEC).Since his retirement, General Salisbury and his wife Florence remain active in Regimental organizations, serving as absolute examples of personal and professional dedication to our Regiment.
