CSM (Ret.) Aurelious A. Winter (1990)

CSM (Ret.) Aurelious Winter served the Signal Regiment and Army for 29 years, and as Honorary Sergeant Major of the Regiment after he retired. CSM Winter held leadership positions at squad, section, platoon, company, detachment, battalion, brigade and installation level. His Signal background is both tactical and fixed communications with overseas service in Germany and Vietnam.

CSM Winter served with 11th and 3d Armored Calvary Regiments, 24th Infantry Division, 5th Infantry Division (Mechanized), 9th Infantry Division, 16th Sky Calvary, 11th Signal Battalion, 7th Signal Brigade and at West Point. He has been an instructor in the 31Z and 36C courses at Fort Gordon, Ga., as well as command sergeant major of the Signal School.

His awards and decorations include the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star medal with oak-leaf cluster and Meritorious Service Medal with two oak-leaf clusters. CSM Winter was inducted as a Distinguished Member of the Signal Regiment in 1990, along with his appointment as Honorary Sergeant Major of the Regiment.
