COMMANDER  - COLONEL STEPHEN ELLE

Colonel Stephen Elle is a native of Yankton, South Dakota. He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1981 as an Administrative Specialist. He served with units in Germany and Fort Riley, KS, and was discharged after earning a Green-to-Gold Army ROTC Scholarship to attend college.

Colonel Elle was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the U. S. Army Signal Corps upon graduation from the University of South Dakota as a Distinguished Military Graduate in 1991. COL Elle’s assignments include Cable Platoon Leader, A Co, 67th Signal Battalion, Extension Node and Area Node Platoon Leader; C Co, 67th Signal Battalion, and Assistant Operations Officer, 67th Signal Battalion, Fort Gordon, GA; Brigade Signal Officer, 18th Military Police Brigade, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Mannheim, Germany; Company Commander, A Co, 440th Signal Battalion, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Darmstadt, Germany; Brigade Training Officer, 22nd Signal Brigade, Darmstadt, Germany; Plans Officer, 335th Theater Signal Command, Atlanta, GA; Operations Officer (S3) and Executive Officer, 1st Satellite Control Battalion, Peterson AFB, CO; Satellite Communication Planner, Executive Assistant to the J6 and J6 Strategic Planner, North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) and U. Colonel Elle is a graduate of the Signal Officer Basic Course, U.S. Army Airborne School, Branch Automation Officer Course, Signal Officer Advanced Course, COMSEC Custodian Course, Combined Arms Staff Services School (CAS3), the U.S. Army Command and General Staff College, the Joint Staff Officer Course and the U.S. Army War College.
He holds an Associates Degree from Kansas State University, a Bachelors of Science degree in Sociology from the University of South Dakota, a Masters in Business Administration from Trident University, and a Masters in Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College.


His awards and decorations include the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (4 OLC), the Army Commendation Medal (3 OLC), the Army Achievement Medal (4 OLC), the Army Good Conduct Medal (2nd Award), and the Humanitarian Service Medal. He was also awarded the Bronze Order of Mercury by the U. S. Army Signal Corps Regimental Association.



COMMAND SERGEANT MAJOR  - VALERIE F. GREENE
Command Sergeant Major Valerie F. Greene is a native of Tampa, Florida. She entered the Army on 31 March 1983.  She completed Basic Training at Fort Jackson, South Carolina and Advanced Individual Training at Fort Gordon, Georgia as a 31K Combat Signaler which later became 25U- Signal Support Systems Specialist. 

CSM Greene overseas assignments in the Federal Republic of Germany include: First Sergeant, Delta Company, 17th Signal Battalion, Kitzingen, GE; BDE Communication Chief, 130th Engineer Brigade, Hanau GE; Squad Leader and Training NCO, Delta Company 204th Military Intelligence Battalion, Augsburg GE.

Her assignments in the Republic of Korea include: Group Communication Chief, 501st CORPS Support Group, Camp Red Cloud, and 34th Area Support Group, Yongsan; BN Communication Chief, 227th Maintenance Battalion, Yongsan and 702nd Main Support Battalion, 2nd Infantry Division, Camp Casey; Operations Sergeant, 122nd Signal Battalion, 2nd Infantry Division, Camp Casey, and Section Sergeant, 728th Military Police Battalion, Taegu.

Her stateside assignments include: BDE Communication Chief, 1st Medical Brigade, FT Hood, Texas; Platoon Sergeant, 324th Aviation Battalion, Hunter Army Airfield, Savannah, Georgia; Section Sergeant, Charlie Company 24th Signal Battalion, Fort Stewart, Georgia, S3 Sergeant Major, 16th Signal Battalion, Fort Hood Texas; Echo Company 801st Maintenance Battalion, Fort Campbell Kentucky as a Tactical Wire installer and a unit Armor, G6 Sergeant Major, 25th Infantry Division, Schofield Barracks Hawaii. Her most recent assignment was the Command Sergeant Major of Headquarters and Headquarters Battalion 25th Infantry Division, Schofield Barracks Hawaii from January 2008 to March 2012.

CSM Greene deployed to Operation Desert Shield and Desert Storm 1990-1991, Kuwait 2002, Operation Iraqi Freedom 2003, Operation Iraqi Freedom 2005-2006, Operation Iraqi Freedom 2006-2007, Operation Iraqi Freedom 2008-2009, and most recently to Operation New Dawn 2010-2011.

CSM Greene is a graduate of the Warrior Leader Course, Advanced Leader Course, Senior Leader Course, Unit Armor Course, Standardized COMSEC Custodian Course, Master Fitness Course and First Sergeant Course. She is a graduate of class 54 United States Army Sergeants Major Academy, Fort Bliss, Texas. She has a Bachelor in Science degree from Excelsior College, NY.

Her awards and decorations include Bronze Star Medal (3 OLC) Meritorious Service Medal (4 OLC), Army Commendation Medal (5 OLC), Army Achievement Medal (9 OLC), Good Conduct Medal (9th Award), National Defense Medal with bronze star, Southwest Asia Service Medal, NCO Professional Development Ribbon (Numeral 4), Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (13th Award), Iraqi Campaign Medal with 3 bronze stars, Kuwait Liberation Medal (Saudi Arabia), Kuwait Liberation Medal (Kuwait), Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal and Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, and the Driver Badge.

MISSION

The 15th Regimental Signal Brigade conducts world class training to produce expeditionary warriors with full spectrum competencies necessary to live the Soldier's Creed and positively contribute to their next unit of assignment.
