OUR MISSION:

"Fort Gordon Field Office conducts counterintelligence (CI) operations throughout the state of South Carolina and eastern Georgia, to protect forces, information and technologies by detecting, identifying, neutralizing, and exploiting Foreign Intelligence Services (FIS), International Terrorists (IT) and Insider threats. "



WHAT WE DO FOR YOU:

  • Assist Army Units and Contractors in Force and Technology Protection
  • Local Threat and Vulnerability Briefings
  • Foreign Intelligence Service Collection and Counterterrorism Travel Briefs
  • Counterintelligence Surveys
  • Preliminary Computer Intrusion Investigations
  • Threat Awareness and Reporting Program (TARP) Briefings and Investigations


WHEN TO CALL US:

  • Unauthorized personnel ask about Army forces, secrets, technologies, etc.
  • Any known, suspected or contemplated acts of espionage by any person
  • If inappropriately searched, detained or questioned about your job while traveling in a foreign country, or have official documents stolen or confiscated
  • Contact with foreign military or intelligence personnel
  • Unauthorized intrusions or theft of a sensitive computer system
  • Deliberate security violations or compromises
  • Any domestic or international terrorist threats
  • Discovery of technical surveillance device in sensitive areas
  • Any diversion or attempted diversion of U.S. technology to a foreign nation


WHAT CAN YOU DO?

  • Protect information and follow basic security guidelines for handling classified information
  • Challenge individuals who request sensitive information from you unless they have a need to know. Report repeated/inappropriate attempts to obtain sensitive or classified information to the 902d MI Group
  • Stay alert. Recognize situational stressors and personality characteristics that lead people to commit espionage.
  • Report any known, suspected or perceived acts of espionage or terrorism to the 902d MI Group at (706) 791-9409, FBI OPS (706) 722-5702, 1-800-CALL-SPY or on AKO ISALUTE

10 Key Indicators of Potential Terrorist Associated Insider Threats

  • Advocating violence or the use of force to achieve political, religious, or ideological goals.
  • Advocating support for terrorist organizations or goals.
  • Providing support to a terror suspect or terrorist organization.
  • Association with or connections to known or suspected terrorists.
  • Repeated expressions of hatred of American society, culture, government, or the principles of the U.S. Consitution.
  • Repeated visits to websites that promote or advocate violence against the U.S. or U.S. Forces, or that promote terorism.
  • Expressing a need to engage in violence in support of terrorism or getting others to do the same.
  • Buying bomb making materials or obtaining information on how to make explosives.
  • Encouraging others to violate laws, disobey orders or regulations, or disrupt military activities.
  • Family ties to terrorists or terrorist supporters.
